Oh! sullied creature of earth!
Know not or feel my mirth
Hurry I must
You stay behind in dust
Duty beckons
Ha! you who reckons?
The click the clang.
The glint the gleam.
The glow the Flow.
The stint the steam.
Oh! I tire not in this attire
I must go on
On my shoulders alone,
rests the destiny an stars hath shone.
Weighted by the crowns
Drowns
Some how somewhere
If not there then haa haaa! here
I must strike
Oh mandarin shadows of the dark
Hark
Hear not the gusty whine
You and I shall always shine
Tend you to the spike
Even if you do not like
I am not trite
I am bright

I mean it is very very meaningful poem from a wise poet like you. Brilliant and ten, cheers.
Masterly crafted poem........great diction used......rhymes and rhythm flowed so well.......This is not a work of a novice if must say! ! ! ! ! ! !
'Duty' only a four lettered word but with a mighty power, I know it well. This poem evoked this feeling in me and so I thankyou for reminding me of its meaning. There are times when I am bound to duty and then, there are times when I break free.......... Ruthy: -)
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Is that witty Churchill on the go...............Duty proud to feel yet difficult to be consistent........... victorian words refresh anew.......
