Egotistical Lover Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Egotistical Lover

You're hot and cold
you turn on a dime
you do it often
you do it all the time

But your turns are so predictiable
like the seasons
like a repeating rhyme
You undermine your love every time

Now you love him
Now you don't
You say you'll take him back
Now you won't

You cry about love
But you only want posession
You break so many hearts
you ought to go to confession

When a man loves you
You only want more
and when it doesn't go your way
You show him the door

You can't resist raising the bar
if he rides a bike you ask for a car
If he promised you the moon
You're disappointed and ask for a star

And when you don't get your selfish way
You push him away
Like a bad movie in your mind
you're pre-prograed to replay and replay

When you're hurting
you shut everything out
as your disgusting ego
makes you selfishly pout

As everyone must scurry
and scramble about
as you lash out and shout
because of the love YOU shut out

You make it hard to be a friend
because if I speak my mind you call it The End
And if you were to hear good avice
you'd only disagree and agressively defend

You're a hypcrite with a big head
You're not satisfied until you've tested and killed love dead
Go take in another stray..
It's your fate and destiny to send him away

Later you'll pine for him
but your tears have only one aim
to turn love into some sort of game
Here...I'll try to make it plain:

You're to blame!
Because you take in 'what's his name'
You have sex and equate it with Love..just the same
But sex isn't love and you now feel the shame

He's not the villan
You're not the saint
You fell in love
He Just ain't

You're a master female maipulator
a loud-mouth and a demonstrator
but you can't put lipstick on an alligator
See ya later! ! !
