I was open for business, open for love, open to you
I wasn’t looking for much, just mutual satisfaction
From this messy transaction
I thought you wanted me for me and not just an outlet
I thought you wanted me; my love, from the onset.
It was all a blur; going by oh so quickly
From the moment we met till your lethal kisses
The first conversation to the convergence of bodies
The words were sweet; became my cravings
The lies seemed real; all the time deceiving.
Day and night; hour to hour; fidgety fingers
Dusk faded into morning; only us in those wee hours
Pressed against my pillow; awaiting the hurting light
You used; all the conveniences and privileges
Me wanting more than I got at the end of the night.
I let you in; I opened up for business
I took down the ‘Closed’ sign from my door
But you only wanted pleasure…
I got in deeply expecting more
Becoming the object merely for your leisure.
I take the blame; I accept; my heart overruled my mind
For a second; I let my guard down unfortunately
I should have kept that professional ‘relationship’
Should have conducted things how I know I can
For one, to-night I wouldn’t be where I now stand.
