Emotions Can Cloud Your Mind Poem by Daya Nandan

Let not the passion of emotions cloud the spotless mind,
Love, hate, despair, jealousy and anger can make anyone blind,
Just as one cannot see through water when the water is unclear,
You cannot foresee the impact of your actions to those you hold near,

Emotions are seductive, they can influence even the calmest soul,
They can take over your mind, they can make you lose control,
But don't fall into that trap, for it will put you in great debt,
A debt of sorrow, hatred and self pity, uncontrolled emotions bring regret,

Remember that the tears that roll down is unlikely change things back,
The efforts to fix things sometimes is unlikely to fix hearts that you crack,
I suppose self change can make a difference in the mistakes that you make,
But repairing all the damage is difficult, a lot of effort it will take,

And sometimes broken bonds will never ever be the same again,
Left as vague memories, a prison of regret, sorrow and pain,
Let not the passion of emotions ever cloud the judgement that you make,
For they can leave scars that you will remember every moment you are awake,
