Emperor Ashoka
Tuesday,3rd September 2019

Emperor Ashoka observed in the battlefield of Kalinga*and shivered
thousands of slain soldiers were scattered all over
was this the aim of my life as a king?
who did all slaughter to bring a piece of land?

He denounced violence and stepped down from kingdom as king
he saw in this as great wisdom
at what cost is this war waged? he probed
why such tragedy drama is staged often?

he went to far of the easter countries
to propagate the gospel of peace
preached the basic principle of Buddhism
and stress for the welfare of humanism

why do we hear the use of an atomic weapon?
that too on a nation who preaches no use first
every now and then the neighbor is threatening its use
whereas the country is near to starvation

can the boundary be drawn on the basis of religion?
and bring instability in the region!
do they not look a fool when making the mockery of atomic weapons?
and withdraw their own statement

it is as good as giving bomb in the hand of the monkey
who threatens passers-by as a key weapon
shows it often as muscle tactic
and create the panic
