Encounters Poem by Jayne Doe

Encounters

Bowed head
Crumpled on the floor
Please don't turn away loved one

Wipe those tears
Raise that chin
Let me take that hand of yours

Pull you up
Steady now
Find some ground to stand upon

Walk together
On we go
'til you do it on your own

Step alone
Stand ahead
From mine slips your steady hand

Don't look back
Moving on
Apparently our time is done

Softly smile
Watch you go
Goodbye to one my heart still holds
