End Of Days Poem by ben burgess

End Of Days

Rating: 5.0

When loneliness fills this empty heart,
Just feelings of nothingness being apart,
When I wake each morning and you're no longer there,
But your smell remains and carries me near,
Back to memories of days gone by,
When we used to laugh and smile,
Days when life for me was ok least for a while,
But outside it’s beginning to rain,
As I realise these tears for you, they still remain,
Tears of a previous existence,
Those ‘good old days’ how I miss them,
Thought I saw you just the other day,
Until she turned round and gave me that look of dismay,
I still have the pictures of you and I together,
Just can’t bring myself to bin them forever,
Want to hold onto every little last bit,
I know you’ve moved on but I just can’t forget,
It’s my end of days.
