England Poem by Christopher Tye

England

Rating: 4.3

England

England land of forests and fields,
Noble ideas of freedom and abolishing slavery,
Great men like Newton and Churchill among us,
Land of old villages clustered around church spires,
All things to all people lie here in this sceptred isle,
Nation in decline as the world changes,
Democracy was reborn here for modern times.

I too was wondering as to why the beautiful smile, all of a sudden turned to a snarl. What ever, its a nice Arostic. Thanks for sharing.

Great poem, the set up building England into something beautiful before the last two killer lines a nation in decline brilliant
