Eyeless Head Poem by Ibrahim Ibn Salma

Eyeless Head

I dreamed again, searching for a lover,
Lover-less sleep;
An orphan longing for
The mother,
A crow croaking,
Picking on rotten-rinded fruits,
A tree searching for its roots
In the depth of the dark soil,
With a light-less lamp.

A lucid nightmare
Mocked me,
I could not bring anything
To the world,
The crow flew off
Beyond my thoughts,
Leaving me with
An eyeless head.
