Eyes Of A Child Poem by Randy McClave

Eyes Of A Child

I looked through the eyes of a child
Everything was adventurous and wild,
And everything that I ever saw
On it I just wanted to crawl.
I wanted to touch everything that I could
Not ever asking or thinking if I really should,
Then those times I could never explain
Why kicking or touching it caused me pain.
Everything that I saw was an adventure
As I went out on a daily venture,
Many times I looked and I thought what is this
My wondering I would not ever dismiss.
The world was new and always alive
It was my ultimate and adventurous drive,
I wanted to look about and explore
As I had done the many days before.
I never saw or found hate or sin
Never did I see evil or bad women or men,
And never did I saw religion or faith
And I always felt protected and always safe.
All that I saw was houses and roads and trees
And flowers and snowflakes floating in the breeze,
Upon the world again I was happily hooked
When through the eyes of a child, I looked.
