Facing Honesty Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Facing Honesty

Needed and necessary,
Overdue changes to make.
Slowly done to accept and embrace.
Will take more time,
Looking from the outside in.
And decades from the inside out.
To recognize the success,
Those necessary changes needed...
Had been embraced to accept them.
Gone to no longer,
Protesting against the process.

It may have taken God seven days,
To create what many still...
Can not appreciate.
And just within seven days alone,
People are heard to moan and groan...
About their selfish and thoughtless ways,
Permitted with entitlements to receive.
As others accustomed,
To ensure their lives experiencing...
Countless of atrocities.
Including injustices, disparaties...
And other mistreatments expected to accept.
A sacrificing done for many that has come,
It is not God that is on their minds.

But yet...
It is God,
From the inside out...
More are in need with necessity,
To discover.
What it is about themselves...
Nothing outside will be found,
To correct what they've done to themselves.
And this to examine for many,
Is a lifetime of beliefs stripped to pieces.
To cure them from the fear of facing honesty!
