मुझको छुट्टी मिल गयी है. मुझे विदा कीजिये भाइयो
मेरा आप सब को नमस्कार और अब इजाज़त दीजिये.
ये मेरे दरवाजे की चाबी कृपया वापिस लीजिये
कोई भी दावा मेरा अब इस घर पे बाकी है नहीं
जाने से पहले मैं आपका आशीर्वचन पा कर चलूँगा
लंबे समय तक हम पड़ौसी बन के आपस में रहे
किन्तु जितना तुमसे पाया मैं तो उतना दे न पाया
अब सुबह होने को है
और मेरे अँधेरे कोने को जिसने प्रकाशित था किया
वो दिया भी बुझ गया है.
बुलावा आ गया है और सफ़र के वास्ते तैयार मैं भी हूँ.

I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my brothers!
I bow to you all and take my departure.
Here I give back the keys of my door
- -and I give up all claims to my house.
I only ask for last kind words from you.
We were neighbors for long,
but I received more than I could give.
Now the day has dawned
and the lamp that lit my dark corner is out.
A summons has come and I am ready for my journey.

Rabridthnath Tagore is one of my fav Classic poets and you did him justice with a great fab translation of his poem. Seems to be about a neighbor embarking on passing away journey wow! Kudos!

You have translated Tagore's poem in heart touching manner. Telling goodbye to others we express our emotion. Long time's neighbor remains in memory and we feel the emotion of such moment.We feel the life's journey with goodbye. An excellent poem is well penned....10

Farewells are painful but life is a journey and cherishing all the good times and moving on is what life is all about. A humble tribute to the good old times. Beautifully translated by you makes the poem more beautiful. My compliments Rajnish jii 10++
