My parents on June 8th 2013 had their 50th anniversary. So I wrote this in the celebration of such an epic feat
Fifty years of sacred love
Towards a Midwestern journey to the northwest
Where a strong bond, a unity was formed
Through thick and through thin
Unconditional to the essence of it’s core
Fifty years of sacred love
A naval journey made it be
A handsome kid from Iowa
Found himself a beautiful woman of his Puget Sound dreams
Through the years they carried on
Sacrificed the best that they could
Gave each other and others every bit of their hearts and souls
Always dedicated to go beyond where they could ever go
Not to say there have been rough times
But through that they always came through
Battle tested to endure the thick towards thin
Sacrificing themselves for those they love
Mother and father,
You earned the right to relax
You have worked so hard to make others around you happy
Smile, set yourself at ease
May many more golden years fallow through
Always and forever to beyond
Any limits in the priced essence of the hereafter
Fifty years of sacred love
And many more to be counted
Two rare gems giving us love and compassion
All in the graces of who they truly are
Souls so beautiful, so handsome
As their inner warms us all
The outside is looking rather great as well!
Written with honor,
James Darwin Smith II
