Rekha Mandagere

To my conscience I promise
That I shall never compromise
With the cruel deeds of the selfish
And the cold sides of the devilish
I stand and fight before I perish

Acting under the banner of rights
Snatching away wealth into their records
By buying the law for their selfish gains
And make poor, puppets by their brutal trick
I stand and fight until I fall sick

Mocking at the rest who stand hapless
By raising the wave of high and low
And charging on the sicken unkindly-
Pushing them to the far sea deep below
But I wish to see the rising haven
Spreading my courage to the edge of the horizon

Freedom is never given freely by the oppressor, it must be fought for rigorously by the oppressed, in order to enjoy the dividends of Liberty. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply

But I wish to see the rising haven
Spreading my courage to the edge of the horizon, , good thoughts

    between thoughts aaaand action
    one needs to register reaction
    what he or she intends
actually wants or pretends...... (Report) Reply

    Another great write, Rekha.
    So true.
One think, no matter how many apparent gains they make from their dishonest behaviours, it won; t make them happy. I really believe in the law of compensation and good deeds are rewarded immediately with great peace of mind while mean deeds are leading only to worries and stomach ulcers.
A very nice poem that is really thought provoking. (Report) Reply

Fights I really hate but those with own conscience are so many that hardly I can see myself.. Lovely poem dear sis, maybe I know how hard it is to fight when pride and selfishness tries to take over, wish I could always be a winner, unfortunally have to confess that I loose many times..
