Figure Of My Imagination Poem by Fired Heart

Figure Of My Imagination

Do you ever find yourself screaming
Yet still no one can hear you?

When you want to cry
Do you hide in a place no one will find you?

Do your tears ever dry on your face as you sit there,
Pondering,
Looking lost into space?

If you know something bad is going to happen
Do you except it,
Or do you try to stop it
Even when you know your attempts
Will never change it?

Have you ever believed a lie
Because you wanted it to be true;
Or maybe because you knew
Your heart would not survive
The truth?

I sometimes wonder
If life really is just a game we play?

You can win; or you can lose.
Or can we beat this stupid game?

Do you ever cry in your dreams
Tossing and turning in your haunted sleep,
Waking in a cold sweat
Trying to define truth and reality?

Are you strong or are you weak?

Are you lost and waiting to be found?
Or are you hiding away somewhere,
Quietly fading into the background?

Have you ever looked so hard into a mirror
That you become your own reflection?

I ask you now
Can this be real?
