Goodbye And My New Begining Poem by Fired Heart

Last night a gentle breeze touched my face
And for a short, happy second I thought it was you.
I remembered our early days together
When we would sit in bed all day
As if our time would last forever.

Those days seem more than a life time ago.
Now we are both consumed by hate for one another
From all the wrongs we have set against each other.

I miss the way you tickled my back
While you kissed my neck
As you told me I was your special girl.

I miss making you toast in the morning,
And you-always complaining it was too burnt.

But most of all, I just miss loving you.

I feel a deep emptiness
I fear may never be filled again.
I don’t your love anymore,
Yet, I don’t understand how that can be?
Once upon a time there were no two closer people
Than you and me.

I am sorry for all the things I did,
But you have punished me enough.
You have filled my mind with thoughts that cause me pain
And they will never leave me be.

I’m thankful that now I can just be me
It’s so sad that now I am without you
Is when I finally feel free
