Fire Horse Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fire Horse

I was born of air.
And close to water.
That would attract me there.
But my passion rises,
Leaving my desire...
Fired up like a horse.
Releasing freely a stirring heat.

And when the kisses of Venus,
Comes to lift my wants to wish.
Under a new or full Moon,
I am submissive and admit...
A needing to be dominated.
And controlled.
Until that flame inside of me,
Begins to cool.
That lust for life,
I must temporarily let go.
To rest my quest to adventure,
More to explore to satisfy...
Before the flickering of embers,
Fade to dim within me!
