Fishing For The Day Poem by Kristy Artmann

Fishing For The Day

Rating: 5.0

Briskly walked to the weeds ridden pond
Cool breezes and sunbeams inviting
Grassy knolls spaced with crickets, ants, and other bugs of nature
Laughter galore and smiles that last for days and burn memories behind my eyelids
Company nicely chosen; couldn’t have asked for better patronage
Resolute turtles caught on our lines and thrown back in after nipping bait
Little fish desperate for a taste
Squiggly worms fighting for its life
Fate soon chosen unbeknown through knowledge
Sun settled behind the clouds giving our skin a break
Hours and hours of laidback enjoyment
Afterward it ended with warm goodbyes, our fishing for the day
