Five More Minutes Dad Poem by Jenny Barton

Five More Minutes Dad

I wish I had five more minutes Dad to tell you how I care.
The little things you did for me, I was always quite aware.

A taxi here, a taxi there,
A shelf up high, a walk nearby
A pint or two followed by a vindaloo
All meant so much to me

You were my friend dad, I hope you could see
And life without you is sheer misery.
You were a dad to make us proud and, yes you
Certainly stood out from the crowd.

A bit of rough, sometimes too tough! !
Your moods were mad, but what a laugh we had!
Oh the tales I could tell on you! ! !

Five more minutes Dad, to say in our hearts you remain
even though life is just not the same,
Why you were taken from us we will never know,
but one things for sure we wont let you go

So it's not goodbye or adios, or farewell see you soon
It's thanks for being my friend and my dad
And for all the good times that we had.

I love you Dad
