! Fleeting Memories
While talking on the phone today
I realize just how far away
You are from me in time and space
Any yet the memory of your face
When I was just a little girl
Sets my thoughts of you awhirl;
How young and lovely I recall
You used to be when I was small
I always thought that you'd be there
To comfort me and always care
So many years have come and gone
I've been away, and life moved on;
Then all at once it came to me
That time had passed and so had we
So much remains still left undone
Where once we lagged, we now must run
To finish all we meant to do
While you have me and I have you;
For soon you will be gone away
Your time is short, you cannot stay
Forever on this earthly plane
Your body frail and wracked with pain
Then memories of us will be
All that's left of you and me.

Midnight...A stunningly moving, work of fine artistry...Still there is time, as time & destiny has not yet taken its course, here...Make the best of, & take the best of the time still here....and create for yourself, yet another stage of memories to take with you when, in fact destiny does ultimately call.You can remember the youth, the childhood...all that shone...but your poem speaks quite clearly that you still have an opportunity...to leave no stones unturned...both of you.An absolutely beautiful expression of ultimate love & passion from a daughter to her Mother. ~ Have a Very Happy & Blessed Easter, Linda! ~ ~ FjR ~ ..2008..
