Floating Ashes Poem by William Ryan

Floating Ashes

I have necklaces hanging all over the place

And pictures so I can still see her face

Plus just one message saved to hear her voice

These are the things I saved by only my choice

I have a pillow where she once laid her head

The spoon I used when she needed to be fed

Many memories of all the games we used to play

Fresh in my mind like it was just yesterday

Spread some of her ashes in a small lagoon

Told her I loved her and I'd see her soon

That is when the picture became somewhat blurred

The ashes were floating and that's just absurd

As the center turned like a little tidal wave

Then fell out while the rest floated away

These ashes only floated just maybe a foot or two

Sank turning the water a bright shade of blue

I raised my head and looked at the sky above

Thanked God for showing us all of his Love!
