Fly Me Away Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Fly Me Away

Fly me away
Take away this spirit's yearning
This soul more powerful than this flesh
There is so much more to me
Than anything I have ever worded
In silence I express myself in many ways
More than you have ever known

I am too old to look the part
Too young to drain myself out
Emotions in a wishing well excursion
Drop me a consideration for my thoughts
Challenge this heart with all the power you possess within

Take this spirit to new heights
And I will take you even higher
This soul, doing all that it can
To fight in the name of anything you want me to be

I am not here for a part
Just for the role of your choice
Sensitive in a different spectrum of feelings
As if they were my own

Do I exist?
Can you look past my many flaws?

I will always support you wherever your wings may grow

Dreams, May they all be magical
in the bright blue skies of your own choosing
Upon a place where the sun shines
in the epitome of all of your own beauty

Its ok, Fly away, you never have to take me anywhere
I can fly high on my own

Love, I grow tired waiting for your approval
