For Me Poem by Megan Cooper

For Me

Why, or should I say how, did you go through it all?
As I sit pondering how I never heard your calls.
You called out my name,
In my time of wrongfulness and shame,
And O’ how I see,
You took the brutal blame,
For my sins.

Nothing I say is, or will, ever be good enough,
Because for me you stayed so tough.
To be beaten savagely and hung from a cross,
Because all of the soldiers were so false.
As they circled your cross mocking badly.
You motionlessly hung there sadly.
But you heard our sorrowful cries,
As tears filled our eyes,
But your only reply was.
There, there, I will surely rise
Again.
