i want to be near you.
i want to fall asleep next to you, a short catnap
or a long slumber.
i'd like to hibernate with you, my bear.
i'd like to squint in the morning light and groan "five more minutes" next to you.
i want to feel the sunlight on my skin.
i want to feel your sunlight.
i want to bask in you.
i'll lie with you on a dock where fish hide underneath.
i'll lie near you in an open field with morning glories giving their purple salute.
i'll lie with you in childhood homes with memories and cats and the smell of suppertime.
i'll lie with you in unfamiliar places where strangers murmur.
i'll lie with you in the darkness.
i want to lie next to you and think of anything, or of nothing.
i want to look at the ceiling, and just know that you're there.
we don't have to speak, but we'll
have endless conversations.
i'll reach out to you without using my fingers
we don't have to touch. i just want to be in your presence,
but i'll wrap you up in me
just because i can.
