Forever Free Poem by Hazel Durham

Forever Free

Rating: 4.8

The past is a time of remembrance,
A time to haunt places of old and to trace the many faces
Of the landscape of the past with romance
Being the star of many a dark night,

Love is set alight,
In our troubled minds to at last feel the glow
Of feeling right,
The world a paradise of nature's splendid sight,

Waves pound onto the beach of our hearts shore,
The wind rages against the death of the light,
Letting out a rebel roar,
As the moon sassy and bright,

Lights up our faces in the darkness of the ghosts of the night,
Age cruelly robs our youthful fight,
For our right,
To glow with the ripening of being young and free,

But age is like the moon a subtle glow beautiful to see,
As we unite to fight for our eternal right to be
A light for the past and to be forever free,
As we charge into the future,

Like a well rooted surging tree,
To live with love and the energy
Of times long ago to know we have been set free
In a blind world we are the people who can see.

Light for the future had lit in the past and free present to glow like sun. enjoy the calmness in the old age like the stars in the sky receiving the free energy from the sun which glows for ever.

How your words grace the page with aging gracefully. Hazel, you have revived old age. And this old man feels young again!

Beautifully penned! On one side, we rebel against the encircling gloom, but on the other, our hearts exult over the brightening light! So we are never lost! There are always forces to maintain the equilibrium!
