You gave me life, you gave me love
You were God’s gift from above
First to Dad, then to brothers, three
You were God’s first gift to me
You taught us how to live and love
You sought directions from above
To bring your boys up straight and true
‘Cause you felt we were his gifts to you
Dad used a belt when the need arose
But, that was not what upset me most
T’was when upon your face, I’d gaze
And see disappointment on your face
But, no matter what, I always knew
Your love would be forever true
And I think you know, I hope you do
Forever, mom, I love you too

Hello Richrad. Nothing like a mother's love. I could say the exact things about my mom. As if we were raised in the same familt. Good work, Loyd
Your words come out from the depth of your heart, they flow so naturally... they enter the mind and soul of the reader so gently that he feels and thinks as if you are sooth saying your own mother. Your poetry is great.
i love the gentle flow of your words. It deeply touched me.What a very loving tribute to your mother. Shalom, Meggie
Very precious words Richard, a wonderful tribute to your mother. Best wishes, Andrew
complete love is love that expects nothing in return...maternal love is complete and devotional...the disappointment on mother's face was more than a whip...a good write, richard... ten grade
