I am slipping, losing grip, on the painful things in my life
I want to let it go but the balance will become unstable
I am slipping, losing grip, on the lovely, beautiful things in life
I do not want to lose them
But they are falling, falling
A sure, steady hand helps me to my feet
Another helps me lift my burden
Yet another leads me to realize how important
These lovely, beautiful things are
And helps me get me through
Those painful things I am gripping, slipping, falling
Though not carrying alone
Because friends are with you
Always
And
Forever
Friends do not
Desert
You
You will not
Crash
Or fall
With a friend
By your side
Sometimes I wondered,
If my friends
Would let me
Fall
Sometimes I wondered,
If my friends
Would let me
Crash
I believe
That friends
Do not let you crash
Or fall
I believe that
Through hard times
Friends follow through
With you
I believe that
Through happy times
Filled with
Peals of
Laughter
Friends are there
To share
The moment with
You
Yet sometimes
I wonder
What if?
What if?
Friends left me
Alone
To feel
The pain and
Confusion
Alone
Or to laugh
And cry
And sing
Alone
DEDICATED TO:
-'Sass' Wisdom Lewis-
For having to go through all your hard times with friends to help you through. I wish I was there to help you from
Crashing, Falling
But you have taught me what it feels like to have a friend who understands you, and knows what you are feeling.
This poem is to try and help you understand your feelings and for you to understand that I am a friend willing
To Catch You When You Fall,
To Laugh, And Love
To Cry With You, And To Help You Through Times
Of Confusion, Sorrow, And Distress

the essence of a true friend is one will be at your side forever to pick you up and to stare you straight when you lose you way
