Garbage Packaged To Trash Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Garbage Packaged To Trash

Garbage to package.
Fast to grab and have it.
Remains digested, invested to infest,
Minds defending garbage to define...
Life and the quality of it,
Than nothing more than quick to get...
Packaged garbage.
To dump in plastic bags.
Purchased by plastic cards,
In which to keep one deeply indebted...
Crediting,
An increasingly cheapened life to live...
As great and to be envied,
By those who stay distanced from it.
Although will not admit,
Walking through streets littered with trash...
Garbage bags, and listening to profanity,
Has always been dreams of theirs to wish.
With it done to live it fast and quick.
Just like the kids of today are taught to do.
Waste in haste and disrespect.
Worthy to spit their loyalty upon.
In tattooed patriotism.
Exposing their envy and jealousy.
To those with upturned noses...
Rushing to get through the trash.
Identified as such.
Preferring the comfort of their own garbage.
Identified to be something other than it is.
