Gay In The U.S.A. Poem by Ramona Thompson

Gay In The U.S.A.

Rating: 0.5

Close minded or is it the truth? Dare you look within to find the truth?

Looking around me
Seeing a scary thing all around
People seem to have forgotten
All about morals and christian values
What the bible and Jesus did teach
I know you'll gonna disagree
But I just gotta say
No, it's not ok
To be
Gay in the U.S.A.

Not trying to judge
Not trying to be harsh
Force what I believe on you
But somebodys gotta take a stand
Tell what's on their minds
Even if the rest of the world
Tells me that I'm wrong
I believe 100 percent in the way that I was raised
That it's not ok to be
Gay in the U.S.A.

Marriage is meant for 2
A man and a woman
Not a man and a man
Nor for a woman and a woman
Sorry if the rest of you disagree
But I'm not the one
Who made those rules
Just read the bible and you'll see that
It's not ok to be
Gay in the U.S.A.

No, this ain't hate
No, I'm not
What you call
A homephobe
I just understand
This is the way
That my savior meant for it to be
All of us living how he ask
Know in my heart it's true
If he were standing here today

He would say the same as I am
No, no it's not ever gonna be ok to be....

Gay in the U.S.A.
