After love and a happy home,
The most important things parents can give their children

Are to teach them

To develop high moral character,
To love learning,
To think freely for themselves,
To seek knowledge of truth,
To find joy in simple things,
To behold beauty everywhere,
Contentment in every state,
Gratefulness at all times,
Courage to do right in the face of adversity,

And the importance of being at peace

With oneself,
With all others,
And with all things.

These are treasures which cannot be destroyed or taken away,
And whoever possesses such qualities in abundance
Will want for nothing.
