God Of The Hopeless Poem by Nathan Streango

God Of The Hopeless

Rating: 5.0

God of all creation, the keeper of my soul,
The heavens bow before you, the earth is but your throne,
And here I stand beneath you, and I have no seeds to sow,
My knees will hit the pavement when spirit starts to flow,

Father can you help me, cuz I can’t even start,
The pain is overbearing while my body falls apart,
The insides start to burn when I’m reaching for a star,
Cuz sin is penetrating and I’m screaming in the dark,

Jesus please speak for me, when voices have no sound,
I’m clinging to my vices when I know they’re not allowed,
Eyes cut so deep I’m blinded; I don’t see that I am bound,
And even though I lost my way I’m praying I’ll be found,

God of all the hopeless, Conquer all my fears,
If my heart shatters into pieces, will my God appear,
I’m running out of second chances, running out of tears,
I’m running out of songs to sing I guess my time is near,

I live amongst the shadows; I’m stuck inside my pain,
I hope to see my clothes in white but all I see is stains,
And I know that when the earth shall pass all that will remain,
Is You and me and hopefully You still will know my name.

I wanted to write praises, a song of victory,
But you’re so pure and I don’t know if heavens fit for me,
And maybe I’m complaining cuz I’m way too sick to see,
That you’ll always love me and you’ll always set me free,

God of all creation, the keeper of my soul,
The heavens bow before you, the earth is but your throne,
And now you sit beside me in my room I’m not alone,
The God of all creation turned my heart into a home.
