God's Gift Poem by karin collins

God's Gift

Rating: 5.0

She came to me upon a whim,
One day she was just there.
I felt I’d known her forever,
But I couldn’t say from where.

The things we had in common,
Were too countless to embrace.
Yet I could see the hesitancy,
Written on her face.

I think I took her by surprise,
She asked me why I cared.
I didn’t have a reason,
Just something that I shared.

For months she was uncertain,
Her trust she wouldn’t give.
She had so much to deal with -
Took everything to live.

So I stood beside her,
And gave her all my love.
I prayed she would remember,
The plan of God above.

Now she is the picture,
Of love and life content.
She is the friend I needed,
For which my life was meant..

As it turns out she is a gift,
That has been sent to me.
How blessed I am to call her friend,
How blessed I am to be.
