Good Afternoon Poem by penny green

Good Afternoon

Just to say good afternoon
On this dull grey day
Nothing much to sing it's praises
Except that it is of course another day
A day to celebrate the joy of spring
Lambs prancing in the fields
Gambling clumsily behind their Mother's
Primroses breaking from thier buds
Frilly fringed ferns regrow refreshed from their winter slumber
Birds frantically gathering tuffs of wool and tiny twigs
Driven by nature's force to build their nests in hedge and tree
Man sits by as the hours tick by
Little power to change the forces that drives all on
Questioning if we are too late
Too late to stop the inevitable destruction of our beautiful, beautiful planet!
