Good Friday, April 15,2022 Poem by Dr John Celes

Most holy day for Christians all -
Good Friday marks a death on cross,
Good Shepherd Christ took Father's call,
Suffered for sinners - what a loss!

His Father, God, had sent His Son
Into this world to show His love
For human souls, an act well done
Of obeisance of Christ Lord, Wow!

The Good Shepherd had left His flock;
Unmatched was death and sacrifice;
The world betrayed the Holy Rock
And proved to all God's Word was wise!

Three years of preaching God's Good News
And keeping with what Scriptures said,
Not recognized by even Jews,
Lord Jesus Christ was declared dead!

With passions signal, cross He bore;
A bloody price, Good Shepherd paid;
No one had done this way or more;
A ransom for heaven was made!

The world in darkness, Sun had hid;
All mankind's sins erased has been;
The Son one did what Father bid;
Yet not for name, glory or sheen!

The Lamb of God though put to death
Will resurrect on Easter Day;
For Redemption, He took his birth;
God's grace had kept devils at bay!

The Savior of the human race,
Lord Jesus opened Heaven's gate
For sinners penitent by grace,
All just for love and not by fate!

God loved the souls He made so well;
Good Shepherd died to free the flock;
Like devils, human fate wasn't hell;
Christ showed God's love and Holy Rock!
