Goodbye Is Goodbye But Not Forever Poem by Felix Emeka George

Goodbye Is Goodbye But Not Forever

I was then at the school
When my sister hurried in call
Brother, mum is in coma,
Later announced in the emergency room
A student and I was out of money
I rushed to friends short of saying word
My heart beat like talking drum!
I couldn't be the transport fares that conveyed
Me see her in my native land.
Like am deaf or my heart beat
Beating so fast makes empty of anything
When I could not go and resolved
On calling, I heard her reviving breath.
I was crying then. could any be my only help
Just tarry away imagine watching her last breath.
I know she's fight for her life I know it
But I couldn't know much longer.
The heaven hand of death take her away from me.
I can say goodbye now
But i want you to know a day
To the time approach 9 August
I remembered again
I still believe though you say it at your last breath
We'll meet again someday I want you to know
When will we at least another time with you.
Goodbye is goodbye but not forever though.
