Gray Skies Poem by David Thomas

Gray Skies

these clouds run away
as the sky turns a gray,
shades of a lonely color
deepened by the whole
as our love is split far,
i miss you so much
that every cloud in the sky
could not contain my sadness
as they burst into rain,
flowing over every inch of land
with gusto,
i'll find you one day. i'll be with you one day.
we'll be together, one day.
and then these dull skies won't be so gray anymore
among other things these never ending rains
will become more like a sign
of one of life's growing pains.
