Grey Sky Poem by John Lorenzo Javier

Grey Sky

I awoke in the midst of a deep sorrowful morn
And stared at the faint sunlight passing through the window
I looked up at the sky and saw it was grey
That wrapped me with the fear of tomorrow

I looked at the bitter and blank faces around
And crept around with my bare feet
I heard no whisper, not a single sound
Tried to keep my face empty and neat

I arrived in a vacant but not so vacant hallway
Felt the people around with vague and bothersome noises
But in my eyes there was no one there
And in my ears there weren’t any voices

In the end of the day I began to pray
And begged for a simple but blissful day
And somehow this gave me a satisfaction
And hope that gave me inspiration
