Growing Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

Growing

Growing up
Is seeing
Spiders and
Hoovering

Not waiting
For mummy
Calling her
And shuddering

(wrote this after seeing my children hoover up spiders in their room; reminded me of those days when they used to freeze up with fright, and wait for me to get rid of those spiders)
