Guards Of Honour Poem by Vijay Sai R

Guards Of Honour

Proud to be-
Those army men
Guarding our border
With our neighboring country
So called to be
But never to be practically-
Shedding skin and blood-
Away from their homes
Away from their parents
Away from their spouse
Away from their siblings
Away from their near and dears-
Mission only one
Safeguarding our country-
Keeping vigilance
All the time
Fighting day and night
Unity among them
So higher rate-
Brothers and sisters
All of them to us
Giving everything
All for our nation
Such as the patriotism
Induced in their blood
Bringing laurels
To one and all-
Whole world watching
All such happenings-
When a day
All of a sudden
Their convoy
In Pulwama-
Bombed down
By a suicide bomber-
All men-a battalion of
Central Reserve Police Force-
Almost forty of them
Mercilessly massacred
By the country
Sharing our border-
Terrorism at its peak-
The group behind this brutal attack
Explicitly declaring
Their part in this insane explosion-
Leaving our hearts
Heavy and somber-
Let's unite together
Dear brothers and sisters
And fight against this atrocity-
The person writing this homage
Joining with you
To immerse in prayer-
May their souls
Rest In Peace-
Hail those Jawans-
An act of bravery
Dignity in Death
Proud to be called
Salute to those Martyrs!
Say no to terrorism
Every such event
Condemned with severity-
Enemies warned
Never to repeat
Such a cowardly act-
Nothing short of
Being stamped as
An act of timidity-
A message to the world-
Let peace be everywhere.
