Hanging Around ' Her Majesty's Cup ' Poem by Justin Gildow

Hanging Around ' Her Majesty's Cup '

The line has dispersed from ' Her Majesty's Cup '
The people have gone off to see a show
Or they've gone off to take in the sights
Enjoying their day in the shire
While I'm gently feeling the warmth of the sunlight

After many hours on my feet
Walking throughout the shire
I make my way to ' Her Majesty's Cup '
While looking forward to greeting my friends that are a family

I arrive at ' Her Majesty's Cup '
My feet are tired but I still smile
I make conversation with you all
While I pay for a soda
Your warm and friendly personalities make me stopping here worthwhile

So with no one behind me
And no line of customers
We continue talking and smiling

I take a seat by the side
As I'm hanging around ' Her Majesty's Cup '
Just reflecting on my day so far

After a while
I have my strength back
And I bid you all bye for now
As I continue to walk in the shire

As the evening arrives
As people leave through the shire gates
I stop by again at ' Her Majesty's Cup '
And my friends that are a family greet me good evening and ask what I'd like to drink
I ask for a water and gladly pay once more
You all allow me to hang around ' Her Majesty's Cup '
And we all carry on a special conversation
As the time ticks by until you all must clean up and close
And for me to be on my way

Thanks for letting me hang around ' Her Majesty's Cup '
I'm sure it'll happen again

And in the air
The doves flock and fly away
