Happiness You'Re After Poem by Darren Harris

Happiness You'Re After

Love is love no matter what happens,
People should be there,
It's at times like this, the loneliness,
People should show that they really care,
I can't fall out of love in a second,
In a minute a month or a year,
my love for you is everlasting,
And losing you was my greatest fear,
You ripped out my heart and you danced on it,
To the beat of the heavy bass line,
Whilst the DJ got you into a frenzy,
And euphoria took over you mind,
Now I lay here with a body that's batter,
With love seeping from my open wounds,
Whilst tears that are everlasting,
Dance to the beat of the DJ's tunes,
I know that you told me you loved me,
Now I realise that wasn't the case,
Now you're dancing alone to music,
As the DJ cranks up the BASS,
But remember these last words I tell you,
From each fragment of my broken heart,
I loved you with each breath that I took,
And I had done from the very first start,
So even the love you had for me has died,
I hate mine because it just grows stronger,
I love you, I need you and miss you,
But I hope you find the happiness that you are after.
