Hara Pranay! Poem by Prasad Natarajan

Hara Pranay!

Tacky heavy veils of pollen frolic to August tune,
Thirsty throats, eager lungs longing for her since June,
Droplets fill up empty memories, almost overflowing,
Lal Kekadda venturing out, Langurs whistle blowing,

Charming cheetal grazing spree, spotted deer roaming free,
Majestic mayura, is dancing emperor or just a trainee,
Relentless songs of koyal vacates silence from breeze,
Talkative bulky mendak giving motionless ghariyal a real tease,

Disappearing stripes leaving behind terror pug marks on land,
Munching fresh machhli over river banks, painted storks stand,
Slithering Kala Raj Nag loudly hissing lyrics of Hara Pranay!
Himalayan big balu playing with bees bows to her in Vinay!
