Heart And Mind Poem by Bijay Poudel

Heart And Mind

These two anatomical lumps,
One thinks, dreads and drives,
The next one pumps,
Pumps red fluid all over,
Explores each inch of your body,
And sometimes beyond your territories,
Beyond your hands, feet and fingers,
It dares to explore,
A next body,
A next soul,
It dares to find,
In a whim it surrenders,
Ignores all the threats, prophecies and anxieties,
Issued by the mind.

The mind materializes spirit,
The heart spiritualizes materials,
The mind finds the need to love,
The heart finds the art to love,
The mind knows equations,
The heart questions them,
The mind scans,
The heart accepts,
The mind is entangled,
With all those neuronal hustles,
The heart is calm and simple,
With some blood and some vessels.

So where should I keep you my friend?
Into the thinking machine,
Or into the blood-basin?

But you see, I’ve got a brilliant idea,
What if I find a place?
Beyond these lumps,
That doesn’t need any anatomical justification,
Or a spiritual sanctification,
What if I find it?

This place where hearts and minds meet,
And they accept each other,
Where neither of them suffers,
Can you wait my friend?
Until I make you that offer?

So where could it be?
This mystical place,
Unfound and new,
Where with all my heart and mind,
I can keep you? ?
