Her Poem by Colin Burger

Her

Her long brown hair blowing in the wind
Like field of wheat on a summer’s day
Her eyes glistening in the sun
Like a still lake in the distance
Her voice with the soft beauty of a white dove flying overhead
Flows by as if to be carried by the current of an invisible brook
Her movements like a delicate swan on the water’s edge
Seem as though she is walking on air
Her spirit like the perseverance of the man lost in woods
Seems as though it never gives up hope
As it wonders through this crazy nightmare we call life
Her the essence of grace
Her the insignia of beauty
Her the emblem of hope
Her the woman I love
