The Biginning, The Terror, The Aftermath Poem by Colin Burger

The Biginning, The Terror, The Aftermath

The sun rises on a perfect day
Not a cloud in the sky to hinder its beauty
All the people do the same
The same as they do everyday
All the kids go to school saying goodbye to their families as they grab their lunch and go
Not a care in the world

Then a crash in the air
The sky is falling to pieces
People trapped at the top
No chance for rescue this time
Hear the screams piece the air
As the fire ball explodes
People run through the streets
Away from the horror

Rescuers climb the stairs
Unafraid of all the horror they may face
See all the people coming down
They are the lucky ones on this day
The smoke fills the air
Fires burn throughout the floors it’s like a giant candle stick
All the hope in the world
It must be on vacation today

Smoke builds as the fire ensues
A dark black cloud hovers over the city today
People watch in terror
As a cloud of dust runs through the streets of town
The first tower falls down
Where’d it go, I don’t know, it must me on the ground
People crying in the streets
They know their loved ones all have gone

The second tower falls
All that’s left is a cloud of dust
Everyone is speechless
A blanket of sorrow covers the city
Everyone starts the search
Rubble and fire stops them in their tracks
Few were found
Families cry over loved ones they have lost

A boy cries in his room
He misses his daddy
He is gone died that day
In the ashes and rubble
The boy’s crushed he’s alone
See what they did to us
Families cry in the dark
Over loved ones they have lost
A boy cries in his room
He misses his daddy
They all cry in their homes
Wondering what they could have done
