Here Among Friends Poem by Seamus O' Brian

Here Among Friends

Rating: 3.8

somewhere in the whisper of the words
i find my refuge.
i smash the brake pedal surging
with the anger of a thousand wounds
or the pain of a single insult;
i thrust my car across the shoulder
and into the arms
of the trees beyond.
With the slam of the world behind me i stride
into the soothing shade of a million words
waiting to hold me, to hear me, to whisper to me
that i am among friends.
that here i belong.
Elegant, graceful beauty. Unfettered, primal power,
mysterious and seductive, enchanting and healing,

words

they know me and i know them
and it is enough.

I enjoyed this poem too. You write with depth and beauty. Real talent. I like those last lines words they know me and i know them and it is enough.
