The one in the shadows
Between the night and day
The one who may be gone
The very next day
Fragile movements hide the strong will
The one who once protected
And now is rejected
Doing what little he can
Till the world deals him a better hand
Tipping the scale from good to evil
Evil to good, no longer always on the level
Showing that all and any can change
When the feelings and words rearrange
Bowing to the blows
But still standing against the throws
Of the wind and wear of the world
So he hides in the shadows
Biding his time until
The world twists still
And emerge the hero will
Still there, strong and yearning
Prideful and calm and endearing
Emerge from his prison
Emerge from the shadows within
