His Photo Poem by LaCicely Nicole

His Photo

Its a beautiful sunny day
Cool and windy this third Sunday

Straight home from church
the kids and I have some lunch

I sit down preparing for a nap
and suddenly his photo falls in my lap.

His eyes are piercing my soul
His stance is so, so bold.

His hands so big, fingers so long
All around me are where they belong.

He stands so tall, tall as our ten ft walls
His eyes burn into me like a fireball.

Ooooh his skin, I miss the touch
His lips so soft, I miss him so much

What I would give to see him before me right now
I'm gonna get through this somehow.

What is HE thinking of in this photo?
Once he sees me, maybe he'll tell me so.

I am going to stop all this worrying-DAMN!
and concentrate on reuniting someday with this wonderful Black Man.
