When the Holiday Season approaches,
And holly wreaths are neatly hung,
When the church bells ring their tidings,
And many inspiring carols are sung,
Precious memories renew their hold on you -
A journey home for the Holidays has begun.
The stretch of white road is before you,
And your Holiday spirit is riding high,
Snowflakes sparkle in a beautiful setting
Beneath the sapphire - dreamy sky.
Dearer than memory, brighter than expected,
Each garnered in yet another year gone by.
You drive by many evergreen trees twinkling
With strings of miniature, multi-colored lights,
By houses with lit candles in the frosted windows
And ornamental Holiday replicas clear and bright,
Along the treacherous road of drifting snow,
Gazing attentively and leisurely to and fro
For the memorable road - the glad road
That leads directly to your home that is aglow,
Where embers smolder in the old fireplace,
And signs of the Holiday glitter everywhere.
You are home again to enjoy cherished traditions
And to partake in festivities and fervent prayer.
