Honest Irony Poem by David Thomas

i never thought i'd say this
but as these things go
we really never do,
i would care
if i went through my entire life
without you in my life,
anytime i needed support
better or worse
you are always who i turn to,
and you're always there.
i never saw a future
quite as bright as the one with you
and i cannot hope honestly
to see one brighter than that
because in any dark lit room
with the obsticles against me
and all of the eyes shut
if i held onto every hand
i would know yours by the touch
even were i senseless,
things like this i've found
to be more than primal
evem at the worst of times,
and i would like to tell you
even if it makes no difference
that whatever happens in my life,
if you're not around...
i will miss the most awesome part
of whatever the awesomeness might be.
and this was very hard for me to say,
so i hope you read it one day
even if it's very far away.
